Christmas was coming up and what better to way to celebrate than taking pictures of your loved ones? No, I'm not talking about your significant other, but your beloved pets instead.
I met Dan & Rebecca last year, proud owners of Ned, the St. Bernard and Duke, the Bernese Mountain Dog. As you can imagine they take up quite a bit of space and they are huge part of the couple's lives. Ned is a very loving, peaceful, gentle giant who makes his way around in a regal manor leaving slobber marks everywhere he attends. Duke on the other hand, is a flamboyant fluff ball, the size of small bear but with the attitude of a hyper puppy. The pair work well together in their own fun loving way.
I organised the photoshoot with Rebecca who mentioned that they take pictures every year for their Christmas cards. What I wasn't expecting was Dan to show up in an Elf outfit with a tinsel covered sleigh, let alone Rebecca in her Santa outfit with a mini Christmas tree. Instantly I knew we were in for an incredibly fun shoot!
I'm a huge fan of natural light and love to engage in pet photography in a natural environment. We met in Buchan Park, Crawley where we let the dogs have a run in the forest to burn off some steam and then we got cracking with the shoot.
I'm glad to say that Dan & Rebecca loved their images and Ned & Duke were a huge hit with the Christmas cards! A huge thank you to a wonderful couple for being such great sports and also to Ned & duke for being very handsome and photogenic.
Anyway, here's a selection of images from our photoshoot below.
